Is Your Networking Team Overwhelmed? Tips On How to Destress the Mess

Did you know stress could be one factor behind the rise in internal attacks? Thirty-six percent of CIOs say bigger workloads are the greatest source of stress for their teams. Twenty-two percent cite the pace of new technology as the biggest stressor, followed by office politics at 18-percent.  

We want your networking  team to have as less stress as possible. Here are our suggestions:

1. Muscle Relaxation

We know that stress can take a toll on your body, so releasing tension with a stress ball or neck rolls can help you power through the day! Focus on slowly tensing and then relaxing your muscles, one group at a time. After some practice, you'll be more aware of when you're tensing your muscles and you'll learn to let it go. 


2.  Laugh

I am sure you have heard the old saying, "Laughter is the best medicine." I don't know about you, but I think that is completely true! Laughing something off can change your mindset and really set your mood to be more positive. Maybe there is someone on your team who is the resident joke holder or you can do what I do and Google "funny memes." I promise you will find something! Here is one of my favorites: 


A willingness to laugh at yourself can sometimes serve as a good reminder to not take life so seriously, which will do wonders for your stress level. 


Since our offices are in sunny Florida, I tend to visualize myself at the beach or on a boat if I ever get stressed. Giving your mind a break from the mess for a minute or two can help you... maybe even motivate you to think more positive. Engage as many senses as you can to go to your "happy place" as if you were really there. This one might sound weird, but it doesn't hurt to try. Just do it! I dare you


4. Lunch workouts

Break away from your desk at lunch and enjoy a nice workout! The endorphins, sweat,  music, and different scenery will help you kick it up for the second part of your day.  I am not suggesting a hard core CrossFit session (if that is your thing, by all means), but I am suggesting a walk with a co-worker and some weights. We all know burning calories is good for you and it wont make you feel bad for eating that extra cupcake this weekend.
